To support students in engineering or design activities, for several semesters students will receive courses called Creative Projects (1,2,3, and 4) as well as a design capstone. In this lecture, students are asked to make tool prototypes, which include proposals, schematic designs, designs, tool prototypes and documentation. It is hoped that with this activity, students will get used to doing design and research so that it will help when working on their thesis. The output of this creative project can also be competed in competitions outside UNS. At the end of each semester, the results of creative projects and design capstones are exhibited at the “EL Semar” event. At this event, the work of Electrical Engineering students was exhibited in public and covered by the media. Apart from encouraging students to be creative, it is hoped that this exhibition can train students’ soft skills in presentations and communication.
