To support students in engineering or design activities, for several semesters students will receive courses called Creative Projects (1,2,3, and 4) and design capstone. In this lecture, students are asked to make prototypes of tools, which include proposals, schematic designs, designs, tool prototypes, and documentation. It is hoped that with this activity, students are accustomed to doing design and research so that it will help when working on their thesis. The output of the work from this creative project can also compete in competitions outside UNS. At the end of each semester, the results of creative projects and design capstone are exhibited at the “EL Semar” event. At the event, the work of Electrical Engineering students was displayed in public and covered by the media. Besides encouraging students to be creative, it is hoped that this exhibition can train students’ soft skills in presentation and communication.
